My interest in photography began early in my life. I was always interested in looking at old family photos and was gifted my first camera, a Kodak instamatic, when I was 10. My little brother was my most frequent, and perhaps reluctant, photo subject (he might say ‘victim’!). As a professional, my goal is to capture the moments in life. Moments are not always predictable, but I’ve had the training and experience to understand and be ready for them when they occur. They could be joyous, surprising, poignant, quiet, sad and even humorous. I’ve been a lifelong observer. Over my career, I’ve had the good fortune to be present at a variety of events and make images (and/or decisions as a photo editor) that I hope clearly communicate what was happening.
